Tittle: Solmeta N1 Digital Photo GPS Review
Living in Kenya I often visit one of the many beautiful National Parks
there, just to enjoy nature and the abundant wildlife. There are maps,
maybe not always the most accurate one, and the dirt roads in the parks
are often long and have no distinct name. So what is more logical than
to add the geographical coordinate to the image, to see where you found
this lion or that elephant. Let alone yourself, when you missed to pay
attention to the way marks.
My choice fell on the Solmeta Geotagger N1 for my Nikon D200. Actually I
had the previous model which developed difficulties on several levels,
so I returned it to Solmeta and received an N1 as a replacement (without
much ado). The new gadget (it has a new chip set I believe) is a clear
improvement, also on several levels. It picks up the satellite signal
much faster than the previous one, with a fairly constant time of less
then a minute for a cold start. I usually put the camera ontop of the
car roof to have best conditions. Once locked on, I use the camera from
inside the car, where it keeps the signal without problem, for the rest
of the tour.

Tittle: Feedback
I¨ve just come back from a holiday to France and Spain.Solmeta so I had the opportunity to use my Geotagger nearly every day when I was shooting pictures.
Actually I didn¨t take it off and left it on my D300 during the holiday.
I like it very much and it works without any problems.
I would recommend it to anyone who is interrested in Geotagging.
Now I would be able to track all the nice places of which I have forgotten theirs names.
It¨s great fun!
Best regards to you and the whole team of Solmeta!!

The unit worked flawlessly under all conditions. Many of the trail photos were taken from inside my Hummer and were of the other vehicles on the trip. At no time did the unit loose contact with satellites.
Most of the time, the unit was powered by the camera, since I forgot to bring the units AC charger with me.
I did not notice any large drain on the camera batteries with the unit set to Auto Off (goes off with the camera when the camera goes tosleep). Also the unit latched onto satellites extremely quick when the camera's shutter was touched.
In all, I am very satisfied with the unit and I DO NOT WORK FOR SOLMETA Photo John can confirm this.
However, when you purchase an item that actually works as advertised, you like to say good things about it.

Tittle: Geotagging your photos!
After my research, including emails sent to the various manufacturers of various GPS units for Digital SLR's asking specific questions, I settled on the Solmeta N2 GPS unit for my Nikon D300. Rather than go into a long list of specifics on this unit, just follow the link to Solmeta where you can view and read the information on your own (no sense in reinventing the wheel), Aside from all of the features of the N2, two of the reasons
I decided on this unit was it's versatility in that different cables connecting the unit to the camera can be purchased in the future if I ever need a different connector than what I am using now....

Tittle: Feedback for Solmeta Geotagger
I'm just back from a one week holiday to Vienna, where I took more than 2100 photos with my Nikon D200 (using a MB-D200 battery grip). Having the Solmeta Geotagger is really great! Now when I use iPhoto '09 I can see all the locations where I took the photos.
Because it has its own battery I can leave the Solmeta Geotagger turned on all day without any noticeable battery drain to my camera, adding the GPS location immediately to every photo I take.
It's also great that all the indoor photos are linked to the last known outside location.
Establishing the initial connection with the GPS satellites can take a bit long, but once the signal has been picked up it's very stable.
